After a very successful inaugural year, Ameritime Sports is adding a fourth high school to its client list for the 2019-2020 athletic season. In addition to Hillsboro High School, Jefferson High School, and Ste. Genevieve High School, the original three schools Ameritime Sports began with, the Cape Central Tigers will join the list this academic school year.
“Cape Central Athletics is extremely excited to partner with Ameritime Sports to promote and celebrate our teams and athletes this year,” Tyson Moyers, the Tigers’ athletic director explained on Thursday. “We look forward to the upcoming school year and invite all our parents, athletes and fans to visit the various social media platforms associated with Ameritime Sports.”
The Tigers compete in over 20 sports, including two sports that Ameritime Sports will get its first crack at covering…swimming and tennis. The Cape Central boys swimming team has won the state title the last two years.
Ameritime Sports’ Content Coordinator, Todd Gurnow, said adding Cape Central’s athletic program met every criteria set forth when the organization was considering adding a school. “In Hillsboro, Jefferson, and Ste. Gen, we have incredible athletic directors, coaches, and athletes who exemplify everything that is good in high school athletics,” Gurnow said. “Cape Central has a long tradition of competing at the highest level, while exemplifying the class one wants to see from athletes and coaches. I’m so excited about adding the Tigers, and I’m looking forward to working with the athletes, coaches, and administration.”
Gurnow stated that adding a fourth school was not a necessity. “We didn’t want to add a school just for the sake of adding one,” he noted. “It had to be the perfect fit. After more than a month of discussions, it became clear that Cape Central was the perfect choice.”
Cape Central is located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and had a last reported enrollment of 1,157 in the high school.
